FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Cherokee County Democrats raise $1,731 to support local students and ‘Erase School Lunch Debt’
(Canton, GA) – Cherokee County Democrats are thrilled to announce the overwhelming success results of our Erase School Lunch Debt campaign. With the incredible support of our community, we raised $1,731 to help clear school lunch debt for our most vulnerable students. This achievement reflects the power of Cherokee County families coming together to ensure that every child has access to the meals they need to thrive.
The Erase School Lunch Debt campaign came out of the need to support the most underserved kids in our community. One in every 10 children in Georgia is living in a family that cannot afford basic necessities such as housing and food. Access to school lunch is essential to support those children. Unfortunately, all too often fundraising dollars are never invested locally. This is why Cherokee County Democrats worked with the Cherokee County School District to collect donations intended to support a dedicated fund established to fight childhood hunger. Our donation covered the cost of 706 meals, so it’s going to make a major impact. Thank you to everyone who donated to this project. Another wonderful success story for the Cherokee Democrats!
